This Is What to Do When He Says He Needs Space

Today were going to be talking about if someone says; “He needs space.”
Do they really mean it?
Is that the same as a break up?

Well I've got some good news and I’ve got some bad news

The bad news is, if someone says they need space, it’s a pre-qualifier to a break up from everything we have seen with our clients. Now the good news is that there is something that you can do to improve your chances.

What does he mean when he says he needs space, and does he really mean it?

Well from everything we have seen, yes, he does mean it, in this exact moment. He wants space, but does that mean it will last forever?

One of the interesting things that back when I started my website back in 2012, I thought when someone said they need space, means it and your chances are gone forever, but reality it was a lot more murky. Often, I would see situations where an ex would say;
I hate you
I don't love you
Just give me space
We need to break up

Women would take that to heart, and then a few months later they would come back and say things like;
I'm sorry
I didn’t really mean it

So, what does this ultimately mean? I think that when a guy is in the process of breaking up, they will say things in the moment and even though they mean what they say in those moments. You need to understand that moments and feelings are subject to change as time goes on. Circumstances can change, which can cause our feelings to change. So, when your ex is saying those things to you, they are getting a bit of that grass is greener syndrome.

The grass is greener syndrome, is where they believe that there’s someone out there that is better for them. What happens when they go out to see if the grass is greener on the other side, when they find that it is not, they realise they made a gigantic mistake. That does not mean that some exes who say they need space, and sometimes they do not change their minds.

Remember, they admit that they believe that there’s someone out there better for them, and in order for them to explore that they need to see if the grass is greener.

They do all these crazy things that overwhelm their ex and if you notice the people asking for the space are the ones who are in the midst of all these types of texting or phone calls, or insecure type messages from their partners.

This is why I tell women to listen to their gut, if they feel that there is something wrong and you pick on these little things that something isn’t right, there is something there that they should try to explore. But they do not explore it as they are afraid, they think that if they break up with their ex there is no going back.

Will giving an ex space, work to get them back?

And this may be a hard answer to hear, giving an ex space alone won't be enough to get them back, a lot of you know that I encourage the No Contact Rule, but this alone is not going to win your ex back. A lot of the reasons that an ex say they want space is that they think there is someone better out there for them. Often, they won't come back unless they are missing on by not being with you. If the realise that things in their life are not as great as they were with you.

The thing to do the moment your ex asks for space

What you need to do is create a paradigm shift, a paradigm shift, is doing something or saying something that shines a new light on how you should be looking at a situation. So, when your ex tells you that they need space, you sitting there and telling them that you understand, is not going to create the paradigm shift that we are looking for. What you should actually say is;

"You know what, I am so glad you said that, I was actually thinking the same thing. I actually think we need space too."
