And now we're on to World Tour '89. This first show may have been the debut show of the tour, although it's possible the tour began a week earlier on February 10th 1989. The setlist remains pretty much the same for the rest of 1989, with the exception of 'Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad' being added in for a few shows later in the year. This is also the first show to feature Martin Gerschwitz on keyboards and Pat Thrall on guitar, and features a unique blues jam and the incredible 1989 version of the rock and roll medley for the first time.
One thing you'll notice throughout this era is that there's a lot of improv in the rock medleys, and you'll continue to see that throughout 1989 and 1990. As for the performance, Meat sounds about the best he ever did and the band are playing very tight, it's a very comfortable show and you can tell the band is enjoying the start of the tour. The audio of the bootleg itself is also very great, although was previously too treble heavy until I gave it a little EQing.
As always, enjoy and never stop rockin'!
