The cardiac imaging lab at Texas Children’s Heart Center performs approximately 20,000 echocardiograms each year for infants and children with congenital or acquired heart disease and approximately 1,500 echocardiograms for adults with congenital heart disease. An echocardiogram is a non-invasive test that uses sound waves (ultrasound) to produce detailed images of the heart's size, structure and motion.
Texas Children’s Heart Center consistently ranks as one of the top five pediatric cardiology and heart surgery programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.
