The Philopoene Waltz (1866) by J. L. Truax
I have no idea whether "philopoene" was a misspelling of Philippine or something else. Research (aka googling it for 2 minutes) says that it could be related to some philosopher named Philoponus whose followers were called Philopoenes, but I have no idea why anyone would write a song about them. The song is also referred to as the Philopoena Waltz in some places, and Google brings up some weird German tradition involving nuts. Or a book where Philopoena is literally a made up word by the author. So I really have no idea what it's supposed to mean.
