Full titles read: "The Magic Box - A Pathetone Item in which we meet Jack Hylton and his Band." (new title) "Every day busy workers are transforming pieces of wood and metal into magic boxes (Radio-Gramophones). Here is a "plant" that grows them. The commentator is Rex Palmer, known to millions as "Uncle Rex"."
Location of events unknown - studio shots probably in London.
Various shots in an HMV factory where workers are seen crafting and assembling radio-gramophones (radios / record players); commentary by Rex Palmer describes the processes seen. These sequences are intercut with shots of Jack Hylton and his band rehearsing the tune 'Choo-Choo' in a studio. C/U of someone putting a record onto a turntable and placing the stylus on the record; C/U of the speaker of the gramophone. We then see various shots of Jack Hylton and his Merry Men recording 'Choo-Choo'.
Note: vhs copy shows the story slightly out of sync in places - main 'recording' sequence is ok but rehearsal scene is a bit out of synch.
Duplicate exists in Turns Can 17 (film id 2901.17) - see separate record for details. The Turns version is more in synch than this one, but please check quality for your requirements.
