Once upon a time, not far away,
Lived a speedy hare who loved to say,
“I’m the fastest, can’t you see?
No one runs as fast as me!”
Oh yes, that hare was fast and proud!

A tiny tortoise smiled and said,
“Let’s race along the path ahead!”
The hare laughed loud and shook his head,
“You can’t beat me,” the speedy hare said,
But still the tortoise said, “Let’s try!”

All the animals gathered round,
