This happened months ago, however the footage was very over exposed and I wasn't going to use it. It is a good subject though, so I've repaired it as well as my skill level allows. Camera settings are correct now.
All debris was retrieved and disposed of responsibly. The battery fell out of the model as it melted and did not ignite, it was puffed though. Nothing was reusable.
The crash occurred because I flew too close to the bank on my approach. The model clipped a bush then hit the tops of reeds that flipped it into the water. Those reeds have barbed seed heads that will grip foam.
The narrow body of water we fly off occurs after heavy summer rains and can last up to six months before weed growth or evaporation makes it unusable.
