Hi everyone, this will be a short video. Today, lets talk about post renovation cleaning. At the end of the video, I will share some of my overall thoughts. For now, what we are doing is to finish up all our dirty works so we don’t need to clean again. That includes all the paint touchups, drilling and cutting, as well as installations.

When it comes to post renovation cleaning, there are different packages to choose from. There is basic cleaning and deep cleaning. What we went for is the deep cleaning package because it comes with the floor scrubbing and vinyl coating.

For those of you who did vinyl flooring, you can choose to do this protective coating. This coating can seal up all the gaps and joints in between the vinyl planks, as well as cover up any minor scratches. This will make future cleaning much easier as there will be lesser dirt trapped in between the vinyls. However, the downside is that the coating itself can be scratched easily, and when that happens, it looks like the vinyl flooring is scratched. For our case, our vinyl flooring is relatively smooth, so scratches can be seen easily, additionally, the coating used was in glossy finish, making scratches even more obvious under lighting. If I had knew this beforehand, I would have requested for a matte finish coating instead. But that being said, honestly it is not that bad, the scratches cannot be seen in the day. Only at night when the lights are on, they can be seen when you look closely. So that may something you may want to think about when it comes to protective coating for vinyl flooring.
