What an incredible day! We were out on the tarmac at Washington Dulles Airport for the annual Dulles Day Plane Pull, and we had an absolute blast pulling an 82-ton aircraft for Special Olympics Virginia. This event is a truly unique and fun way to raise essential funds for over 20,000 athletes across the Commonwealth.

This year, the INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital team—including my wife, a critical care nurse practitioner, and her tight-knit, wonderful colleagues—showed up with incredible spirit. It was fantastic to spend the day with this close-knit group of people, all united in support of a great cause. Every member of our team met the minimum donation requirement (approximately $70 per person), and all the money went straight to Special Olympics Virginia.

The Quiet, Cool Police Patrol:
As a genuine e-bike nerd, the highlight for me this year was seeing the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department (MWAA) officers patrolling the huge airfield. Instead of using cars that would idle and pollute, these officers were efficiently and quietly moving around on their QuietKat police e-bikes.

It was great to chat with the officers, who had nothing but praise for these environmentally friendly, effective patrol bikes. Seeing them relaxed, wearing shorts, and quickly getting where they needed to be—all while making little to no impact on the environment—is truly impressive. It’s a smart investment in public safety, officer morale, and a greener way to police large venues. E-bikes really are fun and effective for everyone, from little kids to law enforcement professionals!
