For most factions, having a commander repeatedly and successfully influenced by chaos. And in all due likelihood mutated by it to... Would be a pretty bad thing! But the Tau have remarkably thick plot armor when it comes to the gods! And Commander Farsight O'Shovah has armor measured in meters! His brush with the spiky ones did however leave him questioning the Ethereals and lead him to create the highly segregated Farsight Enclaves. But if that's the worst of the effects upon what is in essence chaos tau then i think we can call them lucky.
