Not everyday is a highlight reel of perfect conditions, so here's a place a ride even when it's average.
Wind, onshore 14-18 gusty knots, swell 1 ft low period mush, with onshore chop, but that's a lot of what I ride, so my gear has to work for me in these conditions and allow me to ride as hard as I can.. I could have taken out a 5m, but I prefer winging with the smallest hand wing possible. Likewise I could have take out a Code 980, but once up, the 850 S has all the bottom end I need and still gets on foil early with a bit of work and bump reading.
I enjoying riding in these conditions, as it makes you a better rider for those good days and yup, I'm always going to include my stacks. I think it shows reality better and that you have to push gear and yourself to become a better rider. I ride Code foils as the foils are better than I can ride, so it pushes me to get better and ride harder/better..
Two things can hold you back from progression, the gear/foil and or yourself..
