Goldkimono (live @Into the Great Wide Open 2023)

Tienus Konijnenberg’s latest project goes by the name Goldkimono, whose debut album ‘The Legend Of Goldkimono’ was released last year.
If there’s one Dutch artist with a knack for churning out catchy tunes with a sunny side, it’s Martijn ‘Tienus’ Konijnenberg; after all, who can forget the bright Top 10 smash ‘Wonderwoman’ with his old band Leaf?

Tienus Konijnenberg has been active as a singer-songwriter for some years; writing songs for Anouk and Van Velzen, but he was also the composer behind Norwegian DJ and remixer Kygo’s global hit ‘Firestone’.

His years of California living shine through in the laid-back pop songs that are infused with influences from indie, hip-hop, electro and reggae. Tienus is Inspired by unity and the need for more of it, which makes the Goldkimono project driven by his desire to spread positive intention. “It goes further than music. Music is the vehicle. We share everything, we share the air, the trees, the same molecules, the same atoms, we are all connected,” says Tienus. “Behind every piece of music is a person and an intention. To me it’s all about grabbing that intention and my own personal experience and using my vehicle to uplift people. The frequency of that intention will come through the speakers. I want to be in service of that – in service to people through music.”
