Craven's Craving compared to Black Madeira. As you can clearly see, these two figs have differences. Very similar, but different. I remember long ago hearing about Black Madeira and Figo Preto and that they were slightly different, with Figo Preto ripening sooner than Black Madeira. Maybe all along there were two very similar, but different figs. One that was larger and ripened earlier, and one that was smaller and ripened later. Both having multiple names. And so, the fairytale of the multiple Black Madeira types carries on. Get one of each to try for yourself :)
