The capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris) is the world's largest living rodent, native to South America. This semi-aquatic giant can weigh 75–150 pounds (up to 68 kg) and measure over 4 feet (1.2 m) long, with a barrel-shaped body, reddish-brown coarse fur, small ears, and almost no tail.
Famous for its ultra-relaxed vibe, the capybara is an excellent swimmer—thanks to partially webbed feet—and often spends time grazing on grasses, aquatic plants, or even napping in water with just nostrils, eyes, and ears above the surface. They're highly social, living in groups of 10–20 (sometimes up to 100), and get along surprisingly well with other animals (birds perch on them, monkeys ride them like taxis). Vocal and expressive, they communicate with purrs, barks, whistles, and more.
In short: Nature's ultimate chill master—big, friendly, water-loving, and unbothered by the chaos around it. #wildlifefacts #babyroo #capybara #capybaraadventures #capybaraworld #capybaracommunity #capybaratiktok #capybarasofinstagram
