Erika Was a Kimono Girl? Pokémon Theory

With Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Lets Go Eevee being officially revealed in a new trailer, a lot of focus has been put on Kanto recently, and I've been paying a lot more attention to it myself. One interesting that stood out to me is how similar Erika, the gym leader of Celadon City, is to the Kimono Girls of Ecruteak City in Johto. Was Erika supposed to be a Kimono Girl originally? Lets find out!
