Young choreographer Bob Fosse in 1955 invited rising Broadway star Gwen Verdon to a one-on-one rehearsal for the play "Damn Yankees," which she characterized as an off-putting "audition" for someone of her Tony Award winning status at the time. Their meeting forever changed the course of their lives, and that of dance in the 20th century. Sam Rockwell plays Bob Fosse and Michelle Williams plays Gwen Verdon in the 8-part series "Fosse/Verdon" released in 2019. "The Audition" was remixed in 2025 by John LeGear at TimComm.com in suburban Chicago for his film history presentation "Bob Fosse: 'Oh Wow' Choreography."
