A native of Oakland, California, Elizabeth Morgan is a music historian and pianist. Her research interests include keyboard and chamber music of the long nineteenth century, music and the body, virtuosity, music and trauma, and music and gender. Professor Morgan earned a Ph.D. in musicology at UCLA, where she wrote a dissertation on amateur women pianists in late Georgian-era England. She has published articles in 19th-century Music (2012 and 2016) and the Journal of the Society for American Music, and she has contributed to collections published by Ashgate and Routledge.
