堺東駅は、大阪府堺市堺区三国ヶ丘御幸通に位置する南海電気鉄道高野線の主要駅です。​1898年に「大小路駅」として開業し、1900年に現在の名称に改称されました。​堺市役所の最寄り駅であり、堺市の行政・商業の中心地として機能しています。​

市役所や裁判所が駅前にあり堺市の行政の中心です。​

駅舎は南海堺東ビルとして商業施設が併設されており、駅周辺には商店街や飲食店が立ち並び、活気ある雰囲気です。​また、堺市の官庁街が隣接しており、ビジネスと生活が融合したエリアとなっています。​

Sakai-Higashi Station is a major station on the Nankai Electric Railway Koya Line, located in Mikunigaoka Miyuki-dori, Sakai-ku, Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. ​It opened in 1898 as "Oshoji Station" and was renamed to its current name in 1900. ​It is the closest station to Sakai City Hall and serves as the administrative and commercial center of Sakai City. ​

The city hall and court are located in front of the station, making it the administrative center of Sakai City. ​

The station building is attached to a commercial facility called the Nankai Sakai-Higashi Building, and the area around the station is lined with shopping streets and restaurants, creating a lively atmosphere. ​In addition, Sakai City's government district is adjacent, making it an area where business and life are integrated. ​
