This webinar was a collaboration between the Young Dementia Network and the Young Onset Dementia Knowledge Centre, Netherlands.
Hosted by international Young Onset Dementia Research Lead Professor Christian Bakker, the webinar highlighted the importance and challenges of advance care planning, and suggested an approach that is holistic, flexible and relational.
Activists Chris Roberts and Jayne Goodrick, in conversation with Dr Orii McDermott, University of Nottingham, discussed their experience of planning ahead whilst living with young onset dementia.
Dr Romy Van Rickstal, Vrije University Brussels, presented recent research which draws on the experience of people with young onset dementia, their families and health professionals to recommend an approach to improve supported advance care planning.
