Hatiora salicornioides, commonly called Bottle cactus or Dancing bones cactus is an unusual choice for bonsai material. First, its a cactus without any leaves. It has a couple bonsai characteristic; a bark like trunk and it readily branches. This first styling will take a formal upright appearance, and later will transition the tree into an informal upright with the applied wire.
