Well, everyone and their mother seems to be making an Asgore theme for Deltarune, and I'm no exception.
Some people have gone for a straight remix of ASGORE from Undertale, and others have done entirely new themes. I decided on each of the motifs used quite deliberately based on theories of what Asgore's motivation is, and what has happened in the past. So if for some reason you've come across this and haven't played the recent chapters, then possible spoilers below.
First of all I started with a pretty straight remake of the opening of ASGORE, since I'm pretty sure I could see Toby Fox doing the same to grab the attention of long term fans. Within that though, I included a quotation of the Freedom motif, and "Don't Forget" in the background, since I believe that Asgore desires to be freed from the burden of what he has been blamed for, and in my opinion I believe that the incident he was involved in had to do with the dark world.
Next are some quotes from The Legend. Asgore directly features in some of the prophecy that we have seen, and I'm also pretty sure that in the chapter Asgore will either be shown to have direct knowledge of how the prophecy is being brought about, or will have to come to terms with it.
There's also a quote from Lost Girl, since once again I believe the incident to be have been related to the loss of Dess. Another instance of Don't Forget linking that with the idea of Asgore knowing that Dess was lost to the dark world, but cycling rapidly due to his obsession with making up for it.
Battle Against a True Hero is there, because that's what Asgore sees himself as. He believes that what he did was for heroic reasons, but once again his obsession with proving that fact means that it loops in a slightly maddening way. His desire to prove himself to Toriel especially means that Heartache is a natural theme to bring back as well. Even though I know some people want his theme to be separated from Toriel, he clearly still wants to absolve himself in her eyes.
Determination returns as well, both to call back to ASGORE, as well as showing his determination in his pursuit.
Once again a final underpinning of a warped version of Battle Against a True Hero in a relentless driving finish, to really emphasise how much he is desperate to show that he was truly a hero.
In summary: Man is red string on a corkboard obsessed, and I think will only become moreso during the chapter, culminating in this battle.
