STOP Saying This in Finnish | Puhekieli Tip

Want a quick tip to sound more like a native Finnish speaker? In this video, I’ll show you how changing the way you speak about "they" in Finnish can have a big difference! You'll sound more natural instantly!

*Btw like I’ve said in a lot of videos I speak the Finnish used in the “pääkaupunkiseutu” so the capital city region. Puhekieli can be tricky to teach since it’s so varied depending on region and speaker yet still important to know so you can understand Finns when they are speaking. So sorry Finns, but I’m trying my best 🥲 I know not absolutely everyone speaks like me, but imo it’s still important to know about 🤷🏼‍♀️

📝Summary
When speaking about "they" in Finnish puhekieli, we first swap the pronoun he to ne. Then Finns don't actually use the -vat/-vät ending, but use the hän verb form with ne.
He = Ne
menevät = menee
Kirjakieli: He menevät
Puhekieli: Ne menee

Extra tip: This also works with negative sentences.
Kirjakieli: He eivät mene
Puhekieli: Ne ei mene
