The Swedish furniture retailer will open the doors at 11am on Thursday at its Auckland store.
The opening is expected to cause traffic delays across the Auckland region. with NZTA urging commuters to plan ahead.
Auckland Transport said big crowds were expected at the store for weeks or even months.
