Google My Maps is a feature of Google that allows users to create custom personalized maps and share them with others. It is a simple to use feature that helps promote teachable map and spatial literacy concepts and will also enhance patrons’ geoliteracy skills. Examples of maps that patrons can create are: “The Best Campsites in Colorado” which shows their favorite places to camp in Colorado; “USA Road trip Locations” which shows every place they visited on their road trip; or an “Ancestry Map” where patrons can mark where their ancestors have lived.
