In partnership with the City Government of Borongan, Philippine Airlines successfully landed its inaugural flight from Manila-Cebu to Borongan and back on December 19, 2022.
Elected officials of the city and the province boarded PR 2651 from Mactan-Cebu International Airport along with residents coming home for the holidays. A welcome ceremony welcomed them upon disembarking in Borongan Airport.
This twice-a-week flight to the country's capital is expected to boost economic activities in the city as well as invite more tourists to discover the wonders of Eastern Samar.
