I spent the day railfanning the Yuma Sub between the San Timoteo Canyon and West Palm Springs. I caught 15 trains in total. I was on a mission to catch UP 1943 and 1996 leading trains, but they never came. At the time of recording, there was a port strike on the east coast bringing an influx of port traffic to the west coast causing congestion which probably delayed the other trains.
