It's week 33 and baby's gaining about a half a pound a week. The grand total so far? More than 4 ¼ pounds and about 17 inches, the length of a butternut squash. Still, your little butternut has plenty of growing to do, gaining as much as a full inch this week alone, and possibly doubling in weight before birth.

With that much baby inside your uterus, your amniotic fluid has maxed out. In other words, there's no room for more fluid to develop. With less fluid to cushion that pushing, and poking, and jabbing, that explains why your baby's movements are sometimes really uncomfortable for you.

Your little bruiser may be able to throw a good punch, but still isn't quite ready for a prime-time bout.
