In this lesson, I go through all five patterns very slowly and carefully with the count nice and loud. I demonstrate using only one chord shape(Amaj9) for the first half of the lesson then for the second half I introduced the concept of changing chords with the anticipation.
So, for those examples I have 2 chords: Amaj9 to Ami9. I demonstrate these voice things using some open strings which I feel are very beautiful in the bossa nova style.
Finally, I apply ALL the patterns to the a section to the classic bossa nova song, the Girl From Ipanema.
I'm happy to do whatever helps the most to master these patterns and chords. I will create a study number to that has fancier patterns however this is a great introduction lesson to the bossa nova comping style.
