Care-O-bot® is the product vision of a mobile service robot to assist humans in their daily life developed at Fraunhofer IPA. Care-O-bot 3 consists of a mobile platform equipped with a robotic arm which can be controlled individually. In addition, by connecting the two software components, Care-O-bot 3 is able to coordinate movements of the platform and the robotic arm. Based on this, Care-O-bot 3 is able to extend the workspace of the robotic arm through platform movements, which enables complex manipulations such as opening doors.
