ANIBOBO
This song was about a wierdo. Julie had got off a PMV bus at Malapau valian to wait for another bus, callled STRIVER from Karavi Village, to go to Rabaul for work.
While she waited, there was this guy at the bus stop who wouldn't stop hard-staring at her and made her feel uneasy. When her sister, Philomena and husband, Tomot, and family picked her up to take her to Rabaul,
she immediately started composing this song about this person whose eyes nearly popped-out from starring (Taluak).
"Dave bar go pi taika iap ma taika ul uti pi una valar ra imperno ra valian" (find me some dry coconut leaves and a lighter so you can try hell at the beach).
This is a 'kakailai na funny' - describing the person who was staring too much (anibobo).
Song comes from Julie's 1st Solo Album, "TOINARA".
Album recorded on February 1989 at the Pacific Gold Studios, Rabaul.
This album earned her the then, PGS Gold Award for most produced cassettes sold PNG-wide and parts of the pacific.
