Campaign volunteer accuses ex-sheriff Ed Troyer of harassment over campaign sign dispute

A campaign volunteer is accusing former Pierce County Sheriff Ed Troyer of harassment and intimidation, saying he stalked her over a dispute about campaign signs.

The alleged incident happened in October involving a volunteer for the current Sheriff Keith Swank’s campaign, Lisa Olson. Troyer endorsed Swank’s opponent, Patti Jackson, in the sheriff’s race, with Jackson ultimately losing to Swank.

Olson has filed a claim for $750,000 in damages, but Troyer denies the accusations, stating he never confronted or even talked to her.

In the legal filing, Olson maintains Troyer’s actions have made her fear for her safety, but Troyer vehemently denies her claims, even sending KOMO News video of the alleged Oct. 30 incident. A police report was also filed about the incident.
