John Carver - I TURNED 50 TODAY! It Can't Be True!

It is so hard to believe that I'm fifty years old. I feel like I am thirty or thirty five years old…then…I look in the mirror. At age fifty I expected to be earning a high income (I am not). I expected to have my house paid off (it is not). I expected to have lots of money in the bank for retirement (I do not).
In fact, the first fifty years I have been climbing, up hill, on my hands and knees. It's been full of disappointments, set backs and some times sheer terror. It has, also, blessed me with an amazing wife and six children that I love with all my heart. I remember when I turned thirty I cried (not joking). I had not had any children which was a goal of mine since the age of twenty two.
In recent years, with the help of many people, there have been opportunities to touch hundreds of thousands of people around the world each week. The path I am on is NOT one I would have chosen. There would have been no way that the good things that have happened would have happened without people who kept me focused on what I can control…my attitude. Several people who would not allow me to quit and give up. I OWE THEM to keep going.
At age fifty, I feel I haven't scratched the surface of what I want to accomplish. A few things I, still, want to do include:
Make sure Juliana NEVER gets cancer again and grows up to be happy and healthy. She's been struggling with cancer since 2007.
Touch the lives of MILLIONS of people each week via television.
Get my personal financial situation fixed (A high paying job was ripped away from me in 2007 and I have never recovered).
See all my kids grow up to be honest, ethical and serving others.
Find a way to give hope to people who have lost hope.
Live my life in a way that serves others in ways I haven't discovered yet.
I hope my next fifty years are better than my first fifty years.
