Railroad Crossing | FM 2439, Hunter, TX

On September 15th, 2024, I decided to head out railfanning in my local area. For my first catch of the day, I followed a southbound aggregate train down towards Hunter, as I suspected that it was going to enter the Colorado Materials plant there. Sure enough, the train was lined into the plant, so I set up at the crossing on the throat of the wye positioned at the plant entrance. Moments later, the empty aggregate train came crawling into the plant with two AC4400CWMs and an AC45CCTE in the lead.

This crossing features a set of Siemens gates installed between 2016 and 2018 or so when the quarry, plant, and supporting tracks located here were constructed. All of the equipment here is made by Siemens except for the pair of General Signals Type 3 electronic bells adorning the crossing.
