In the previous vlog you might have seen I made Podcast video with the Tajik local person about how Hinduism came to Central Asia or how Hinduism or Buddhism flourished to different countries of Central Asia like Tajikistan, Uzbekistan , and other countries. In the previous vlog Tajikistan person explained very well to Indian about history of Panjakent, Tajikistan and how it was related to different religions in the past like Zoroastrianism, Hinduism, Buddhism , Greek religion .

In this vlog you will see Indian visiting ancient Panjakent excavation site where you will be seeing Hindu history closely, if you are travelling from Uzbekistan to Tajikistan via Panjakent border , take a day or two break in Panjakent and explore the places around . Panjakent also famous for Haftkul ( collection of seven lakes ) which you will be seeing in Future vlog in series of Tajikistan vlog .

Hindu religion flourished to Central Asia in a major phase as because of Kushan Empire ( 30 CE - 375 CE ) under the rule of King Kanishka who adopted Buddhism religion , made many stupas , temples around Silk Road also made major Buddhist center in his capital city Purushapur after occupying northern region of India where worshippers and knowledge seeker used to travel different parts of the world . In this vlog I have also tried to explain the Hindu history of Tajikistan through Sogdians history who were popular for their art culture and wonderful trading practices across the Silk Road also religiously tolerant to accept and respect different religions around the world .

It’s recommended to explore the Panjakent excavation site under the guidance of some local person because the area is quite big , you would be confused what to see , where to start or where to move around . At the ancient Panjakent site , statue of Lord Shiva ji and Goddess Parvati ji which dates to be around 5th to 8th century , currently statue is kept at National Museum of Antiquities , Dushanbe , Tajikistan. Kushan Empire coins featured deities from a diverse religious spectrum, including Greek, Iranian (like the goddess Nana), Indian (Hindu deities like Lakshmi and Shiva, and Buddhist figures), and Brahmanical traditions .
