A space marine named Wilson has built a life for himself after crash landing on an unknown planet. He lives peacefully with his best friend, a native creature. Wilson becomes terminally ill and is forced to choose between returning to Earth for treatment and never seeing the creature again, or staying and succumbing to his illness.

Wilson, un ancien militaire de l'espace a fait sa vie sur une planète étrange et s'est lié d'amitié avec une créature de cette planète. Il tombe malade et doit faire le choix entre se faire soigner sur terre et ne jamais revoir la créature, ou rester sur la planète et mourir de sa maladie.
