She competed in her first professional competition at the 2000 World Professional Figure Skating Championships where she placed a respectable third. It was evident, however, that she placed first in the hearts of her fans (and even the commentators) in her professional debut. It wasn’t just the phenomenal spinning that awed the audience but the tranquil and ethereal quality of her skating which exuded a happy peacefulness that can only come from within."
