Hi friends, the past few days have been a whirlwind of imaging appointments along with a breast biopsy trying to identify the calcifications that were captured during a routine mammogram. I have been diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS), intermediate with estrogen and progesterone receptors in my left breast. I also have a questionable area that needs further investigation in my right breast. This is all very new as I continue to gather information and begin the journey towards treatment, which is either a lumpectomy with or without radiation or a mastectomy.
In this video, I talk you through what I know, and honestly, not in the most eloquent way at the moment. This is a very casual talk. My mind is still quite busy, and there are many things to sort out. As a person of faith, I know that God has me through all of this, and as the days and weeks go by, I will keep you up to date on what is happening. I will go back and fill you in on my breast biopsy experience and my mammogram with IV contrast, which is important if you are a woman with dense breasts.
