Dallin H. Oaks’ path in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is one of quiet strength, deep faith, and lifelong dedication. Although he had already built a successful career in law and education, his life changed completely in 1984 when he received an unexpected and sacred calling:
he was invited to become a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
This was not a small or easy decision. Accepting this calling meant leaving behind a fast-rising legal career, respected leadership roles, and decades of professional work. But with calm faith, he stepped forward, trusting that this new direction was part of a higher purpose.
