The Philosophy of Ted Kaczynski Letter to John Zerzan on Nihilism March 1998 Lecture Overview

Today we go back into the Kaczynski Papers Archive to retrieve another unpublished, super rare, and virtually unknown text. This time, we will look at a letter to John Zerzan dated to March 1998, in which the two thinkers actively collaborate to plan a talk on “The Culture of Nihilism” which Zerzan would give to a presumably academic audience. Kaczynski gives his advice about how the talk could be the start of a real movement rather than just provide entertainment that will be quickly forgotten, but the serious disagreements over the “objective factor” (is it technology or agriculture?) eventually led to a falling out between the two thinkers.
