Artistate is delighted to announce AFTER THE DROP: HOW TO MANAGE NFTS, a roundtable discussion on NFTs.
If the past year has taught us anything it's that NFTs are here to stay. The world of Cryptopunks and Squiggles has continued to amaze, surprise and confuse many of us. While we are certain that most - artists, industry professionals and curious spectators alike – are now aware of the significance of NFTs in the art world, we believe that many questions remain unanswered: what does it mean to own an NFT? How does one record their sale and purchase? Why would an artist be interested in creating them? How are they taxed? And how do we all navigate an art world that has changed so drastically within the course of a year?
To shed some light on these questions, we are bringing together a group of six experts, including artists working in the NFT realm, to unpick the often-overlooked implications of dealing with art NFTs. We will examine the various practicalities and “realities” of handling art NFTs, including how they can be administered legally and financially, and what this means for artists, collectors, and art world professionals.
