A 21 year old man has spoken about how, with support from a range of organisations working in partnership, he has managed to turn his life around.
Sait was homeless, unemployed and suffering from schizophrenia. He says that he thought that his life was over. Then, just as he was on the verge of giving up, he began receiving support that has transformed his life. Greater Manchester Mental Health Team, Groundwork, Wigan Council, Active Pathways and Compassion in action worked with Sait to overcome the challenges he was facing. They were supported by Riverside Housing, CPS Security, Gemma Louise Coaching and Wigan Armed Forces. Sait is now managing his mental health with ongoing support. He is a qualified security guard, with a full-time job.
He also has his own accommodation and is currently learning to drive. Most importantly he feels positive about the future and feels proud of how he has managed to turn his life around.
