The L1A1 SLR is a Britsh variant, semi auto only of the Belgian FN FAL. It was the British military service rifle for about 20 years, between the late 50's and the mid 80's.

This replica by ARES is a new batch of the precedent L1A1 SLR they already produced in the past. It comes with a few upgrades, including a one piece external barrel and some changes in the Gear Box (I don't have details about this though). It doesn't have an EFCS Gear Box like the more recent ARES/Amoeba series of guns.

It's a full metal gun with a very nice finish and nylon fiber furnitures. A few accessories exist for the gun and has been sent to me as well : a different safety lever allowing to move the tappet plate to the full auto position (the out of the box safety lever can't be moved to that position because of its shape). A top cover with picatinny rail and a wood kit also exist.

Le L1A1 SLR est une version semi auto only britannique du FN FAL belge. C'était le fusil de service de l'armée britannique de la fin des années 50 au milieu des années 80.

Cette réplique par ARES est une ré édition des L1A1 que ARES avait déjà produit par le passé. Elle dispose de quelques upgrades par rapport aux modèles précédent, dont un canon externe en une pièce et des changements dans la Gear Box (je n'ai pas les détails). Elle ne possède pas une Gear Box type EFCS comme les productions récentes ARES/Amoeba.

C'est une réplique full métal avec une finition très chouette et des garnitures en fibre de nylon. Quelques accessoires existent pour la réplique que ARES m'a envoyé également : un sélecteur de tir différent qui permet de bouger le tappet plate afin d'accéder à la position full auto. La forme du sélecteur de tir qui vient monté sur la réplique ne permet pas d'y accéder d'origine. Un top cover avec rail picatinny et un kit bois existent également.
