Made this quick video while replacing shift solenoid D (SL4) in my 2005 Lexus ES330. The car threw OBD-II error code P0765 - Shift Solenoid D Malfunction. The car would shift through all gears just fine, except it would not go into 5th gear, the final gear. Because the car shifted through all other gears, all other solenoid combinations were in working order, with only the SL4 solenoid failing to actuate. This was verified with the faulty solenoid out of the vehicle. While this repair was done on an ES330, it's the same process for any Toyota/Lexus that has a U151/U151E transmission.
