WHAT IS THE POLICE WRITTEN EXERCISE?
The Police Written Exercise is one of the most important parts of Stage 3 of the Online Assessment Centre. You will take on the role of a police constable and respond to a written task involving a fictional community issue.

You’ll receive written materials such as emails, memos or complaint letters, and you’ll be asked to submit a professional written response in the form of a report, email or briefing.

HOW LONG IS THE POLICE WRITTEN EXERCISE?
The exercise lasts approximately 40–45 minutes, including reading and writing time.

HOW WILL YOU BE ASSESSED?
You’ll be assessed against key parts of the updated Competency and Values Framework (CVF):

This exercise tests your ability to assess information, make appropriate decisions, and communicate clearly and professionally in writing.
