Adapting Lionel Fastrack Defect Detector to MTH Realtrax for the Hawkeye Express track Update # 3

For our 3rd update, we decided the layout was not complete without a track side defect detector like the real world. We adapted a Lionel Fastrack detector into our MTH Realtrax layout. After a few opening examples we will show you our construction process.

The axle counts always proved accurate except for seeming to always miss count this locomotive as three axles rather than four for some reason?

2-MTH Realtrax adapter track #40-1011
2-Lionel Fastrack transition piece #6-12040

First, we assembled and tested the working of the detector. Then painting Lionel track base to match the MTH base color followed by weathering the tracks and ties to match the previously weathered track put down in the layout.
