Hot Spot Analysis utilizes the Getis-Ord Gi or Gi* statistics. These are local indicators of spatial association. In this video we break down what a LISA is and how the Gi / Gi* statistics are derived from the Global G.
In this video we illustrate how we can calculate the Gi using the R programming language with the packages sfdep and dplyr.
