As the name denotes Chethakkari is not a curry but a traditional pickle with a different texture
and taste. One of Amma's unique recipe.
INGREDIENTS
Mango - 3
Red chillies - 20
Salt - Needed
Turmeric powder - 3 teaspoon
Asafoetida - a small piece
Mustard seeds- 4 teaspoon full
Water - needed
METHOD of preparation in brief:
Step 1: Soak Chillies and mustard seeds and Asafoetida for four hours in separate bowls
Step 2: Boil water and prepare salt water by adding 3 teaspoon turmeric powder and 10 teaspoon salt.
Step 3: Cut mangoes as shown in the video
Step 4: Grind the soaked items with salt water and asafoetida
Step 5: Mix cut mangoes and grinded mixture.
Step 6:. Keep in a glass jar for a week and use.
Shelf life of this pickle is a maximum of 6 months
