For the second time in a year, the beautifully preserved SR Merchant Navy 35028 'Clan Line', makes a visit to the Brighton area on the return leg of the Portsmouth Pullman - the first of its kind in over 30 years.
Organised by UK Railtours, this rare excursion got underway from London Victoria before heading down to Portsmouth Harbour. On returning to the capital, the tour took to the West Coastway and Brighton Mainline, running up to 11 minutes early past Arundel, such was her performance.
Clan Line is seen here arriving at Preston Park for her one and only stop for watering, before rocketing north on the incline towards Hassocks and beyond.
