Happy New Year's Eve! I thought it would be super fun this year to create a NYE colorful eyeshadow look using the James Charles Palette! Not gonna lie, looks kinda similar to the other look I created using the Unleash Your Inner Artist palette 😬 but it will be great for any of you wanting to do colorful NYE makeup!
Looking back I've had a lot of big things happen this year! I started a new job in September (although I don't ever talk about my full time job on social media). I also moved to a new house in August! Both of those changes were exciting, but definitely disrupted my routine. Because of all the change I stopped exercising and eating as healthy as I was before. In 2019 I'm looking forward to really putting my health and fitness back as a priority!
I also got to go on some pretty fun trips too! We went skiing in Montana, I went to Disneyland (twice!) and Hawaii twice too! I love being able to travel and I have some pretty fun ski trips already planned for 2019.
One of the craziest things that happened to me was being chosen out of 17,000 entries to be in Benefit Cosmetic's Best of Brows contest! It gave me an opportunity to talk about trichotillomania (an impulse control disorder I have where I pull out my brows and eyelashes). Younger me would be mortified that I ever publicly shared about my disorder. But I was truly astounded at how much awareness it brought. Not only to my audience, but to other YouTubers too! While I didn't win the contest I came away with new friends, a rejuvenated passion for makeup and $500 from winning the Most Spirited award!
I don't share all these things to make anyone else feel poorly about themselves. I share them as a reminder to myself that it's been a great year. This year I've really struggled with anxiety and depression. I've also struggled with figuring out what the point is in me continuing to create content on YouTube and Instagram. I'd be lying if I said it didn't wear me down.
But honestly, my greatest blessing in 2018 has been my channel! It's allowed me to connect with all of you and given me the chance to actually get to know you. I'm always amazed at how many of you tell me that the positivity in my videos brightens your day. You have no idea how many rough days have been turned around just by reading all of your kind and supportive comments!
I'm SO excited for 2019! I know there's going to be some really bad days. But there's going to be great ones too! There's going to be lots of fun memories made, and I can't wait to document some of them on my channel! I am so thankful for each one of you, and all the love and support you have shown me this past year! I'll see you in 2019 😊
