Freighthouse Square Station Train Event on 5/14/2011 (Cab Tour, Rides Included!!!)

Sound Transit, Mount Rainer Scenic Railroad, and the Tacoma Model Railroad Society hosted their first ever Train Event that the Freighthouse Square Station which is the Tacoma Sounder Station. Highlights includes public cab tours on board a Sounder Commuter Train, Polson Baldwin 2-8-2 Steam Engine #70 (recently restored) and Northern Pacific EMD F9 7012A providing excursion train runs on the future, expanded Sounder Southline, and a Cab Ride onboard NP 7012A back to Tacoma from S. Tacoma.

Yes I know that I could barely get my camera steady for the cab car tour, but I got pretty excited (obviously) and there was a crowd behind me so it was a bit brief, but I did get some better footage of the tour on the F59PHI and on the MRSR ride, plus, I did get some good photos of the cab tours that i have been to as well with exterior shots here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/59550377...

This is a video that is well worth watching. To me, this event is a good success and I would like to see more of this in the near future. I would like to give a special thank you to all 3 sponsors of the event for making this the best train event in Western Washington.
